DA architects studio
Our studio, the place where we get inspired and spend most of our day. When we were looking for a new office, we had very specific requirements spacious, bright, with a beautiful scenery. We found a space on the top floor of a house across the American Embassy. It had low suspended ceiling, outdated doors, three types of floor finishes - laminate, granite and terracotta tiles. The choice for us was easy because we saw the potential - central communicative location, great quiet neighbourhood, right next to the park, large space with big windows. We set the working places close to the windows with a view. Around the existing chimney we designed bookshelves on one side and built-in cabinets for samples of finish materials, for printers, storage of office supplies and a wardrobe on the other side. That way the space was divided into work area and library or relax area. We chose to install commercial carpet in the whole office which is extremely comfortable, cosy, durable and contributes to the good acoustics of the working environment. We raised the height of the office by removing the old ceiling and paneling the wooden sloping roof construction with plywood. The plywood brought warmth and color to the monochrome design. The result was cosy, stylish and spacious workspace separated from the rest of the office by an integrated sliding doors. In the additional office we organized a small conference room and a kitchen area hidden behind wall to wall curtain. We also raised the ceiling at the entrance and formed a roof window to meet the guests in an unconventional space that feels like a well of light.
